The Gorimedu police have filed a case against unknown media persons for entering the Thilaspet lower middle school without ID cards when the elections were in progress, on a complaint by Sreenivasan, presiding officer of the booth.

Police officials said, unknown media persons and press persons entered the booth, without ID cards. A case was filed against them under Section 130 of Representation of the People’s Act.

It is noteworthy that no case has been filed against CM N Rangasamy, against whom a complaint was filed by the Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) stating that he had violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), by giving an interview to a TV Channel within 100 metres of the booth.

The PPCC had filed a complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner against CM N Rangasamy alleging violation of MCC on April 24. The complainant, S Sivasami of PPCC alleged that minutes after he voted in a booth at Indira Nagar Assembly segment, Rangasamy gave an interview stating that his party candidate would emerge victorious.
