CHENNAI: Even as opposition swells to his presence at the swearing-in ceremony of the new Union government, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa has confirmed that he will indeed be attending. News of the confirmation came from the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday evening. The BJP, which leads the new government, has maintained that it extended an invitation to Sri Lanka along with all other SAARC countries, and that this had been done keeping in mind India’s standing in the international arena.
