Govt School Produces Dist Topper for 3rd Year in a Row

VELLORE: For the third time in a row, Gajalnaickanpatti Government Higher Secondary School has produced a district topper among the government schools. R Naveenkumar has made the school proud by securing 495 out of 500 marks in the 10th board examinations, the results for which were announced on Friday.

He secured centum in Maths and Science, 97 in English and 99 each in Tamil and Social science.

C Monisha of Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Pernambut and S Sangeetha of Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Arcot scored 494 each to clinch the second position in the district.

Three students -  P Arthi of Government High School, Machanur; S Kaviya of Government Girls Higher Secondary School at Gudiyattam; and M Tamilselvi of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Guruvarajapet -   scored 492/500 and came third in the district.

Chief Educational Officer P Subramani said that a lot of measures were taken to ensure good performance in the government schools this year. “We ensured that they undergo mock tests, monthly revision tests on a routine basis. The class toppers were given special coaching so that they could get good marks,” he added.
