Don't Break Pumpkins On Road to Avoid Accidents: Cops

VELLORE: The district police have urged the public and shop owners not to break pumpkins on the roads and streets during Ayudha pooja to avoid accidents.

The police cautioned the public that action will be taken against persons breaking pumpkins on the road.

In a press release, the police department stated that breaking pumpkins on roads will hinder traffic and cause much inconvenience to commuters, particularly motorists. This could lead to accidents.

The public, merchants and owners of commercial establishments are urged to break the pumpkins on the edge of the road and also clear it immediately. They have been asked to dump the pumpkins in dustbins in the vicinity.

Legal action will be taken against the persons, who violate this order under the provision of traffic rules.
