CM Grants Rs.5L Aid to Kin of Man Shot Dead in SS Pattinam Police Station

CHENNAI: Chief Minister O Panneerselvam on Thursday granted a solatium of Rs.Five lakh to the family of K Syed Mohammed, who was shot dead at SS Pattinam police during an interrogation on October 14.

Expressing deep grief over the loss of life, the Chief Minister said the Sub Inspector of SS Pattinam police station A Kalidas has been placed under suspension and the government has ordered an inquiry by Judicial Magistrate into the incident.  Mohammed was brought to the station for interrogation on a complaint of attempt to stab a two-wheeler mechanic.
