HC Orders Protection for Dindigul Doctor, Kin

MADURAI: The Madras High Court (Madurai Bench) has directed Dindigul police to give protection to a doctor and his family who were allegedly being harassed by a group of lawyers after encroaching upon his house.

Dr T Sridharan, who is residing in a rented house in Nagal Nagar in Dindigul, moved the court stating that the property was purchased by one Murugan and after obtaining a power of attorney he (Sridharan) had made arrangements to sell the house. Some unruly elements approached the petitioner insisting that the house must be sold to them at a lower price to which he did not agree.

At this juncture, a group of advocates trespassed into the house and forcefully threw out the petitioner’s aged mother and put up an ‘advocate office board’ on the premises. As the Dindigul police including the Superintendent of Police (SP) refused to intervene, he moved the court.
