VELLORE : The Vellore Citizens’ Welfare Forum (VCWF) passed resolutions calling for total prohibition, the banning of air-horns, enforcing the right to life and the right to cleanliness.

VCWF appealed to PM Narendra Modi to enforce strict prohibition in all States. A resolution to this effect was adopted at a meeting chaired by president K S Sankarasivam. Honorary treasurer of the forum Gowtham Singhee said liquor menace was responsible for socio-economic and health problems besides disturbing the peace and tranquility of families.

Another resolution appealed to authorities to ban the use of air-horns under Motor Vehicle Act as they caused  noise pollution. The forum wanted strict implementation of the observation of the SC to protect the right to life as it overrode the right to do business in case of leather tanneries.
