Three Die in 3 Separate Road Mishaps

VILLUPURAM: In three separate road accidents, a 20-year-old pharmacy student, a 60-year-old farmer and a private hospital worker were killed in the district on Saturday evening.

According to sources, Uthirakumar, the pharmacy diploma student of a college in Chennai and a resident of Kadambut near Thirukoilur, died of head injuries when his bike collided with another two-wheeler head-on, while he was travelling with two friends. The two on the other bike were also injured.

Passers-by rescued them and took them to the Mundiyambakkam Hospital. Thirupalapandal police reached the spot and sent Uthirakumar’s body to a Thirukoilur hospital for a post-mortem.

In the second accident, Pichandi (60), the farmer from Sithathur village near Thirukoilur, was run over by an unidentified vehicle.

In the third accident, Satish (22) of Panithittu village near Bahoor in Puducherry and a private hospital worker at Ganabathichettikulam near Kalapet was killed, when a car rammed his motorbike he was riding at Kottakuppam.
