MADURAI: A PIL has been filed in the Madras HC’s Madurai Bench seeking a direction to ban rearing and using of elephants in temples and private houses in TN. A bench comprising Justices M Jaichandren and R Mahadevan has issued notices to the Depts of Environment and Forest, and HR&CE to file counter affidavits.
