National, State Award List Out, Rangasamy Govt to Honour 17

PUDUCHERRY: Chief Minister N Rangasamy announced on Wednesday the names of the teachers who are to receive awards on the occasion of the Teachers’ Day celebrations here on September 5.

S Ganapathy, trained graduate teacher,  Aroutchelvi Ayee Ammal Government Girls Middle School, Muthirapalayam in the primary level category and S Velmurugan, principal of Ilango Adigal Government Higher Secondary School, Muthirpalayam in the secondary level would be honoured with the Dr Radhakrishnan National Award (Best Teachers National Award for 2013). The two national award winners would receive Rs 25,000 in cash, a silver medal and certificate, CM said. Making the announcement, the CM  said, 17 teachers would be honoured with the State Best Teacher Award and they would receive a sum Rs 10,000 and a certificate.

Four teachers would be presented with Dr Radhakrishnan State Awards, while five would receive the Chief Minister’s Special Award and eight teachers would receive the Education Minister’s Regional Award.
