PUDUCHERRY : The Budget session in the Puducherry Assembly, which began on Monday,  is set to be conducted for 10 days, perhaps the shortest session so far.

After this session, the Assembly would meet on September 11, when Chief minister N Rangasamy would present the budget. Thereafter, on September 12 and 15, the discussion on motion of thanks to the Lieutenant Governor’s address would be taken up. Subsequently, the session would be held on September 16, 17, 18 ,  22, 23 and 24.

During this period the budget discussions, demands for grants, introduction and  passing of Bills including the budget and other businesses including question hour, zero hour and a half- an-hour discussion would be taken up. The duration of the session was finalised by the Business Advisory Committee on Monday.

In the past, the  session was  conducted for 21 to 23 days. But, in  the past three years, the duration has been decreased since the budget was being presented after passing the vote on account at the beginning of the year.
