Jaya to Seek Votes in Kovai, Thoothukudi

CHENNAI: Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa will be campaigning in Tuticorin and Coimbatore on September 14 and 15 respectively for the upcoming by-polls to local bodies.   Her campaign in Tirunelveli on September 12 stands cancelled following the unopposed election of AIADMK’s mayoral nominee E Bhuvaneswari on Monday.

AIADMK’s Tuticorin district women’s wing joint secretary A P R Anthony Gracy is party’s mayoral candidate for Tuticorin while Coimbatore Urban district secretary Ganapathy P Rajkumar is contesting for mayorship of Coimbatore.

Meanwhile, an AIADMK release here said Jayalalithaa will be paying homage late leader CN Annadurai on his 106th birth anniversary at his statue on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore on September 15 and would release a souvenir. AIADMK presidium chairman E Madhusudanan will also pay floral tributes.
