CM Holds Talks with Flight Cos to Put Pondy on Air Map Again

PUDUCHERRY: Chief Minister N Rangasamy on Thursday held talks with Alliance Air chief administration office Anil Mehta and Air-India administration manager Mohan in presence of Tourism Minister P Rajavelu in an effort to revive commercial flights from the Puducherry airport.

According to an official release, the Chief Minister and officials discussed the resumption of air services from the Puducherry airport. The operators have been asked to give a proposal. The services were stopped after a brief period of operation of SpiceJet, a private commercial airliner, from February 1. The airline operated flights between Puducherry and Bangalore, four days a week, but, stopped operating flights out of Puducherry after January 31, 2014.
