Kannappan to be New IGP, Intelligence

CHENNAI: Senior police officer Amaresh Pujari, who was serving as Inspector General of Police (Intelligence), has been transferred and posted in the Tamil Nadu Police Academy as part of a bunch of transfers of IPS officers announced by the State government on Tuesday.

P Kannappan, Inspector General of Police (Internal security), was transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) in replacement of Amaresh Pujari. The post of IG (Internal security) has been kept in abeyance.

Three Joint Superintendents of Police - J Loganathan, V Vikaraman and Saroj Kumar Thakur - were promoted as Superintendent of Police. While Loganathan is the new Dharmapuri SP, Vikaraman will take charge as Villupuram SP. Saroj Kumar Thakur has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police Tiruchy City.

S Manoharan, who was serving as Superintendent of Villupuram police, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner, Anna Nagar, Chennai.

Abinav Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Tiruchy City, has been transferred and posted as SP, Nagapattinam, replacing R Ponni, who has been posted as Commandant, Tamil Nadu Special Police, XIII Battalion, Poonamallee.

S Mani, who was serving as Commandant, Tamil Nadu Special Police, XIII Battalion, Poonamallee, has been transferred as Assistant Inspector General of Police, Social Justice and Human Rights, Chennai in existing vacancy.
