PUDUCHERRY: With over 50 years of service, JIPMER is striving to be a model for Universal Health Care (UHC) delivery in the country. The hospital would be a link to rural and urban health centres, community care and partner with medical colleges to deliver medical services and health care, said JIPMER director Dr T S Ravikumar at a press conference on Thursday. As a tertiary care medical institution, JIPMER has been serving not only the people of Puducherry, but also of neighbouring states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, he said. The institute has been extending health care to the poor and serving the community through a variety of social missions and research.
