Ex-MLA for Change in TNCC Leadership
ERODE: Congress will face poll rout if there is no change in Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) leadership, said Modakurichi Ex-MLA R M Palanisamy here.
He told Express the ugly incidents in the Sathyamurthy Bhavan in Chennai and the police cases against TNCC president E V K S Elangovan and MLA Vijayadharani have affected the image of the Congress. “Earlier, Elangovan spoke indecently against Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and now against Vijayadharani. One cannot be sure that he will not speak in that manner against party president Sonia Gandhi also in future,” he said.
“As TNCC president, Elangovan should maintain decency and decorum in his speech... Even if Vijayadharani showed anger, he should have restrained himself and tried to solve the problem amicably. But he aggravated the problem by asking her to leave Sathyamurthy Bhavan,” he added. Palanisamy added that the TNCC chief had no right to seek removal of someone from the party.
