MADURAI: Two school boys, aged eight and ten, drowned in a pond in Koppulipatti village near Usilampatti on Friday night when they allegedly went to take bath, police said. Kabilan (8) studying Class III had gone to his grandmother’s house in Koppilipatti to celebrate a temple festival. In the evening, Kabilan was found to be missing. Around the same time, P Arunpandi (10) studying Class V was also reported missing. Meanwhile, dresses of the two boys were found on the banks in the pond outside village late in the evening. On suspicion, locals began a search and recovered the bodies of the boys.
