Two Men Steal Rs 1.95 Lakh from Scooter

COIMBATORE:Peelamedu police are on the lookout for two youth, aged around 30, after a 74-year-old man reported that Rs 1.95 lakh, which he had withdrawn from a bank and kept inside his scooter was missing.

The complainant C Sundararajan, from Peelamedu had topped at a vegetable market to buy provisions on the way back from the bank on Thursday.

When he came back from the shop, he noticed two men, one of whom was resting his hands on his scooter. When they saw Sundararajan, they fled.

When Sundararajan opened the compartment under the seat of his scooter, the cash was missing.

Police suspect that the complainant had not closed the compartment properly as there were no signs of force used on the vehicle. Police are combing through CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
