Tamil Nadu Assembly Session Begins from August 24

According to a notification issued by Assembly Secretary AMP Jamaludeen, the House would meet at 10 a.m., on Aug 24.

CHENNAI: The next session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly will begin from August 24.  According to a notification issued by Assembly Secretary AMP Jamaludeen, the House would meet at 10 a.m., on that day.  This will be the 11th session of the current 14th Assembly.

The session is expected to be stormy as the entire opposition is ready to rake up a number of issues and the demand for implementing prohibition in the State would top their list. Almost all political parties have asked the State government convene the Assembly session to discuss the implementation of prohibition and the alternative sources of income to make up the revenue from liquor sales if prohibition is enforced. 

The last session of the State Assembly began from March 25 with the presentation of the State budget for 2015-16 and ended on April 1.
