COIMBATORE: Two students were killed when their bike collided with a tractor at Achipatti near Pollachi on Thursday morning. The deceased are K GokulPrasath (20) of Omsakthi Nagar near Mettupalayam and R Kousik Krishnan (19) of old Agraharam Street in Udumalpet.
They were third-year Automobile Engineering diploma students of a private college near Othakalmandapam. Gokul had come to his uncle’s house in Pollachi. On Thursday morning, Kousik came to Pollachi bus stand where Gokul picked him up. Near Thirunagar, their bike hit the tractor. The two were thrown off the vehicle and they suffered head injuries.
While Gokul died on the spot, locals sent Kousik to Pollachi Government Hospital. He died on the way.
Sources said, even a helmet could not save Gokul’s life. Pollachi Taluk police have registered a case and are holding a probe.
