13 Police Officers to be Awarded TN CM's Police Medal

The State announced the Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Excellence to 13 police personnel.

CHENNAI: The State government on Friday announced the Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Excellence in Investigation to 10 police personnel and Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Excellence in Public Service to three personnel. The recipients will be awarded Rs 5,000 and a gold medal weighing eight grams, which would be presented by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at a special function to be held in due course.

Those selected for excellence in investigation are K Palanisamy, DSP, Special Branch CID, Coimbatore, A Philip Franklin Kennedy, Inspector, Bodi Taluk Police Station,Theni district, A Murali, Inspector, Crime Branch CID, Metro Chennai,  K Chandrasekaran, Inspector, T-12 Poonamallee Law and Order Police Station, Greater Chennai Police, A Natesan, Inspector, Manachanallur  Police Station, Trichy district, V Chandra, Inspector, Thanjavur All Women Police Station, Thanjavur district, T Kannan, Inspector, Prohibition Enforcement Wing, Krishnagiri district, R Venkataraman, Inspector, B-6, Peelamedu Crime Police Station,  Coimbatore City, P Muruganandam, Inspector, Annamalai Nagar Police Station, Cuddalore district and B Manivel, Inspector, Crime Branch CID, Ariyalur Detachment.

The Chief Minister’s Medal for excellence in public service has been awarded to T Prabhaharan, Inspector, “Q” Branch CID, Dindigul district, M Damodaran, Inspector, Special Division CID, Headquarters, Chennai. and R Senthilkumar, Grade I Police Constable 1363, Palayanoor Police Station, Sivaganga District.

The medal for excellence in investigation is given in recognition of the work done in criminal investigation and with a view to applaud the commitment and dedication of the police officers. Similarly, the medal for excellence in public service is being given as a token of recognition for the outstanding work done by officials with a strong commitment to public service.

CBI officers from City to get Prez Award

Chennai: Two CBI officials from Chennai have been selected for the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.  Syed Bazlullah, additional superintendent of police, Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB), Chennai, and A J Ramalingam, deputy superintendent of police, ACB, are the ones selected for the honour. According to the CBI spokesperson, Bazlullah joined the CBI in 1985. He was instrumental in investigating many high profile anti-corruption cases. Ramalingam joined the CBI as a sub-inspector and has been part of the confidential section reporting directly under the CBI director.
