Army Recruitment Goes Online

Online application based rally of recruitment to Indian Army for TN, Puducherry would be held from September 4 to 13.

PUDUCHERRY: The "online application based" rally` of recruitment to Indian Army for Tamil Nadu and the union territory would be held here from September 4 to 13.

The rally covering districts of Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Cuddalore, Villupuram and Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry District would be held in the Indira Gandhi Sports complex, Colonel A D Pitre, Headquarters Recruiting Zone Chennai, said.

Addressing a joint press conference along with Puducherry District Collector Manikandan, he said candidates should register and apply on official website 'joinindianarmy.nic.in' with all relevant details. The last date for online application is August 19.

Colonel Pitre cautioned aspirants to be wary of touts, saying touts and agents have no role to play in army recruitment.

Candidates applying online should check their e-mail and SMS on their mobile phone from August 20 to September 2 for call letter or admit card and instructions to attend the recruitment rally.

He said candidates should prepare well for their first test of 1.6 km run as rejection statistics in previous rallies had been as high as 70 to 80 per cent.
