Haryana Edu Team Hails Ranipet DIET Methods

VELLORE:A six-member team from the State Council of Education Research and Training, (SCERT) Haryana, visiting the offices of District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Ranipet, on Friday, appreciated the approach adopted by DIET in training teachers to implement the Right to Education (RTE) programme and the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system.

According to A Basheer Ahmed, principal of DIET, the SCERT team obtained hands-on information about the implementation of the RTE programme and the CCE system being implemented in the State schools. Basheer said that while guidelines for the implementation of the RTE and the CCE were common across the country, individual states had their own way of carrying them out. The visit was to explore better ways of learning and implementation across the country.

The principal said the team was impressed by the video lessons developed by the DIET for teachers and students to help them do well in examinations as well as the DIET website. The team members also noted that the DIET utilised several modern tools of information and communication for the development of educational and supportive materials, both for teachers and the students.
