VELLORE: Two teenage boys were arrested in Vellore for murdering their 15-year-old friend during a petty fight on Thursday. According to police, the victim Krishna alias Ajith Kumar, son of Kamal, is a resident of Burma Colony in Vasanthapuram. Kamal is a painter and Ajith is a school dropout and was working as a helper in a shop.

On Thursday evening, Ajith was going around on a rented cycle when he met his friends, aged around 14, playing in the locality. The two boys asked Ajith for a ride upon which he gave the bicycle. The duo reportedly took the cycle for a ride but fell down damaging the handle bar. Angered by this, Ajith had a verbal fight with the duo which deteriorated into physical blows.

Ajith took the bag from one of his friends and threw it into the ditch following which the duo threatened Ajith to return the bag or forget about getting the cycle back. Even as Ajith returned the bag, the duo refused to give the cycle and reportedly beat Ajith to death.

“There was no external injury and he might have died of shock during the fight,” said Investigating officer Nagaraj. Residents nearby took Ajith to the nearby hospital but he was declared brought dead. The duo was secured by police on Thursday night and sent to a juvenile home.
