PUDUCHERRY: A driver of a child care home at Kalapet was booked for allegedly molesting 17-year-old HIV positive girl resident.
During an inquiry by Child Welfare Committee (CWC), the girl alleged that driver Johnny had sexually abused her. She also claimed that the home authorities had done nothing even after she complained.
As the girl had alleged penetrative sexual assault, a complaint was forwarded to the police, who registered a case under Section VI of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Investigations were on.
Meanwhile, in a similar incident, POCSO Act was invoked against a police constable for repeatedly sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl in her own house.
