VILLUPURAM: The Gingee All Woman Police on Saturday arrested a youth under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act for sexually assaulting a differently-abled minor girl and are searching for his mother and elder sister for beating up the victim and her aunt.
Sources said 12-year-old Abinaya (name changed) had difficulty in speaking since birth. Abinaya stayed at her mother’s elder sister Anjalai’s house in Karai.
While Abinaya was at a nearby farmland, R Sakthivel (20), a neighbour, sexually assaulted her after stuffing his handkerchief in her mouth. Abinaya returned home and informed Anjalai about the incident.
