25 policemen get shortlisted for President's medal

CHENNAI: The Central government on Sunday announced President’s medals to 25 police officers from Tamil Nadu for meritorious service on the eve of Independence Day.

The recognition takes into account overall performance, achievement and reputation of the officers.

Three officers will receive President’s police medical for distinguished service: K C Mahali, Additional Director General of Police (Welfare), Chennai; Su Arunachalam, Additional Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police; and G Shankar, Superintendent of Police (special branch, SBCID), Chennai.

Twenty-two officers will receive President’s Police for Medical for Meritorious Service. They are: HM Jayaram, IG, Enforcement, Chennai; C Chandrasekar, DIG/chief vigilance officer, TNPL; A Arun, DIG, Tiruchy range; J Ravindran, commandant, 15 battalion Vellore; V Jayakumar, deputy commissioner, AR-2 St. Thomas Mount, Chennai; N Rangarajan, Additional SP (headquarters), Tiruvannamalai; N Rajarajan, Additional SP, CM security cell, Chennai; Sri Marirajan, Additional SP, SIT, CBCID, Madurai; V Mathi, DSP, DCRB, Tiruchy; K Paranthaman, Assistant Commissioner, SRMC range, Chennai; R Vijayaraghavan,DSP, Metro-two, DVAC; M Muthushankaralingam, Assistant Commissioner, IS, Madurai City; K Arulamaran, Assistant Commissioner, Cantonment Crime, Tiruchy city; G Rajasekar, DSP, Control Room, CBCID; K Ravi, DSP (SIC), DVAC, Chennai; P Paramasivan, DSP,Special intelligence  cell, Coimbatore; S Murugesan, Inspector, Kodumudi police station, Erode; S Krishnamurthy, Inspector, DVAC, Villupuram; P Periaswamy, Inspector, TSP, 14th Battalion, Palani; Ma Bhaskaran, Inspector (technical), police communication cell, Chennai; R Kesavaram, Special Sub-Inspector, DVAC, Ramanathapuram; and S Muthukumar, DSP, SBCID, Chennai.
