Bail cancelled, Yuvaraj re-arrested

Yuvaraj, one of the suspects in the murder case of Dalit student V Gokul Raj, was on Wednesday re-arrested after his bail was cancelled by the Supreme Court.

On May 26, the Madras High Court granted bail to Yuvaraj, founder of Dheran Chinamalai Peravai and prime suspect in the murder of V Gokul Raj on June 24, 2015, in Namakkal. The murder was reportedly committed as the youth was said to be in love with an upper class Hindu girl.

With the Supreme Court overturning the bail, the CB-CID arrested Yuvaraj again from a lodge in Kilpauk on Wednesday.

In July, he released an audio clip to the media through WhatsApp, in which he said, “Swathi’s killer Ramkumar will be punished by God-sent men.” Following this, the State moved the SC for cancellation of his bail.
