CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has permitted the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) to enter into power purchase agreement (PPA) up to a limit of 1,500MW for 2015-16. Modifying the court’s earlier interim order, which had prohibited Tangedco from executing any PPA, Justice T S Sivagnanam, granted the permission on Thursday.
Raasi Green Earth Energy Private Limited, Bengalure, and another firm had moved the High Court for a directive to Tangedco to issue ‘Noted for Record’ letter after their requests and consequently to execute a PPA for buying power from them.
