Veteran DMK leader K Subravelu passes away

A close aide of former Chief Ministers Annadurai and Karunanidhi, Subravelu was elected from the Mayiladuthurai Lok Sabha constituency on DMK ticket during the 1967 and 1971 general elections.

NAGAPATTINAM (TN): Former MP and DMK leader K Subravelu, died at Sirkazhi near here, following brief illness.

He was 86 and is survived by his wife, three daughters and a son.

Subravelu passed away last night, his family members said.

A close aide of former Chief Ministers Annadurai and Karunanidhi, Subravelu was elected from the Mayiladuthurai Lok Sabha constituency on DMK ticket during the 1967 and 1971 general elections.

Later, he was elected to the Tamil Nadu assembly in 1977 from Sirkazhi constituency.
