Puducherry CM V Narayanasamy launches 'Swachhta Hi Seva' campaign

As part of the 'Swachhta Hi Seva,' sanitation campaign, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today swept the premises of Rajiv Gandhi Municipal bus terminal.

PUDUCHERRY: As part of the 'Swachhta Hi Seva,' sanitation campaign, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today swept the premises of Rajiv Gandhi Municipal bus terminal here along with the civic staff.

Dispensing with all paraphernalia, Narayanasamy picked up a broom and launched the two-week long drive.

Convenor of DMK Puducherry, R Siva MLA, Commissioner of Puducherry Municipality, S Ganesan, also took part in the cleanliness drive by rendering voluntary service, drawing the attention of the by-standers.

Later, talking to reporters, the Chief Minister said, "Cleanliness is next to godliness and Puducherry government is keen to ensure a clean environment inorder to give a facelift to the Union Territory."

The cleanliness drive was also launched by in various departments on the premises of their respective offices.
