TIRUCHY:A 47-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly sexually abusing his minor daughter at their house here.
The accused was a daily wage labourer, who has two sons and two daughters. His wife had left him to marry someone else. For the past few days, the eldest daughter of the accused is said to have shared with her neighbours that her father was sexually assaulting her.
On Wednesday, the girl was sexually abused again. Later, the victim herself informed the Childline through the helpline 1098. Based on information, Childline coordinators visited the house and after enquiring with the victim, a complaint was lodged with the Fort All Women Police Station. “The girl was under medical examination. She needs a counselling session as she was found to be disturbed,” a Childline co-ordinator told Express.
Based on the complaint, her father was arrested. A case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
