CHENNAI: A man aged 55 allegedly stabbed his wife to death while she was sleeping on Tuesday over a domestic quarrel. He later surrendered before police.
K Mathy, a fisherman from Indra Nagar at Kasimedu, was living with his wife K Desam and four children.
According to police, the incident occurred on Monday night when the family was asleep. Mathy was angered about a quarrel he had with his wife that evening. “Owing to this, he stabbed her with a knife in the wee hours of Tuesday. One his sons, who woke up on hearing his mother’s scream, was also attacked by his father, a police official said.
Investigation revealed there were frquent quarrels between them over the past three months.
Mathy did not want his wife to talk to another man who stayed near their house. The couple used to fight frequently over this issue.
However, after the incident, Mathy surrendered before Kasimedu Police. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
