Enforcement Directorate attaches Rs 12 crore movable properties

The ED has attached movable properties worth D12 crore of two money launderers in connection with the money trail of sand mining baron J Sekar Reddy and his associates.

CHENNAI: The ED has attached movable properties worth Rs 12 crore of two money launderers in connection with the money trail of sand mining baron J Sekar Reddy and his associates. Joint Director K S V V Prasad said that cash worth Rs 10.5 crore and 6.5kg gold worth Rs 1.8 crore have been attached.

This comes in the wake of the search operations in December 2016 which resulted in the seizure of new denomination currencies worth Rs 34 crore, old denomination notes worth Rs 94.51 crore and 177kg of gold bullion from various premises connected to Sekar Reddy and his associates.
