Another boy drowns in resort swimming pool in Tiruchy

The manager and owner of a resort at Vayalur on the city outskirts were arrested by the police after a 14-year-old boy drowned in the swimming pool on Sunday night.

TIRUCHY: The manager and owner of a resort at Vayalur on the city outskirts were arrested by the police after a 14-year-old boy drowned in the swimming pool on Sunday night.

CCTV footage showed there were no proper security and safety measures in place.

According to the police, M Abuthathir, studying in a private school, went to the pool in the resort near Vayaloor Murugan Temple with two friends. When he failed to come out of the pool, his friends alerted the authorities, who informed the police. The boy’s body was later fished out of the pool.
