Sasikala advises MPs to adhere to Jaya policy for Centre
CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala on Friday chaired the meetings of party MPs and MLAs that took place at her Poes Garden residence and at party headquarters.
Sources said she advised the MPs to adhere to the policy of late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa - not to oppose the Centre or support it. She also said that the MPs should raise their voice for the rights of Tamil Nadu.
She also told them to reiterate demand for financial assistance for reconstruction works to be done in Vardah affected districts and the drought relief for all the districts besides schemes relating to railways.
At the party headquarters, the MLAs meeting took place for around 20 minutes and later, she held discussions with senior leaders. Sources said Sasikala asked the MLAs to concentrate on taking the welfare schemes of the government to the people. She advised the MLAs not to praise her in the Assembly instead speak about the schemes of Jayalalithaa.
Office bearers of Jallikattu Peravai led by its president P Rajasekaran on Friday called on AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala and thanked her for taking steps to resume jallikattu events in Tamil Nadu.
Sasikala presented a cheque for Rs 1 lakh to S Kesavan, a bike race aspirant from Coimbatore, towards his expenses for preparing for participating in a bike race championship event. The assistance was given from Amma Best Charitable Trust.
