DRDO engineer, wife die in accident

An engineer attached to the Defence Research and Development Organisation, Bengaluru, and his wife died in an accident after the car in which they were travelling fell off from a bridge near Natrampal

VELLORE: An engineer attached to the Defence Research and Development Organisation, Bengaluru, and his wife died in an accident after the car in which they were travelling fell off from a bridge near Natrampalli on Sunday.

On Saturday, J Narayanan (58) and his wife N Hemalatha (50) went to Chennai to meet their relatives.
The accident occurred around 1.30 pm, when the couple was returning to Benglauru in a car driven by Narayanan. When they reached near Natrampalli on Bengaluru highway, Narayanan suspectedly lost control of the vehicle and hit the parapet wall of a minor bridge.

In the accident the vehicle tumbled into a pit from the 25 feet high bridge. Both Narayanan and his wife died on the spot. Police suspect that Narayanan might have dozed off behind the wheels. An investigation is on.
