TIRUVANNAMALAI: A 29-year-old Chennai-based wedding videographer was arrested by Tiruvannamalai Taluk Police after he flew a drone over the Collectorate around 12.15 pm on Tuesday.
Policemen deployed there alerted the SP office and a team started chasing the drone, which landed near Andal Singaravelu Thirumana Mahal in Vengikkal after flying over the main road and Girivalam Path.
Chasing it, the police team also reached the spot within no time and arrested S Murugesan (27), a native of Kodambakkam, Chennai, for flying it without obtaining permission. The team also seized the drone from him.

“Murugesan said he was testing the drone as he was supposed to cover a wedding at A S Marriage Hall in Vengikkal after three days.  “He also claimed that he was not intending to fly the drone for a long distance, but things went out of control due to technical glitches. He said he was ignorant over restrictions regarding the flying of  drones,” sources added.
Murugesan was booked under IPC section 287 (negligent conduct with respect to machinery). Later, he was released on bail.
