Yet another breach, now a bridge

As the ground-level bridge near Pazhaiyar fishing hamlet was marooned after heavy downpour on Saturday night, bus operations to four nearby hamlets have been stopped until Sunday evening.

NAGAPATTINAM:As the ground-level bridge near Pazhaiyar fishing hamlet was marooned after heavy downpour on Saturday night, bus operations to four nearby hamlets have been stopped until Sunday evening. Kittiyaranai River passing between Pazhaiyar fishing village witnessed  a spate on Saturday night, and the nearby ground-level bridge was submerged. S Ramalingam, of Pazhaiyar said, “As a bridge construction work is going on across the Kittiyaranai River here near Pazhaiyar, the PWD officials have recently build the ground-level bridge. While the bridge connected four villages namely Pudhupattinam, Thandavankulam , Pannaikarakottagam and Kottagaimedu, it was submerged at around 6 am on Sunday. After this the buses were not allowed”. The bus service was restored in evening.
