CHENNAI: A day after Governor Banwarilal Purohit reviewed the State schemes and justified it on Wednesday, leaders of many more opposition parties as well as the three allies of AIADMK - U Thaniyarasu (Kongu Ilaignar Peravai), S Karunas (Mukkulathor Pulippadai) and Thameemun Ansari (Jananayaka Manithaneya Makkal Katchi) - besides TTV Dhinakaran, decried his action asking him to desist from doing so hereafter.

In a joint statement here, the three allies of AIADMK condemned the Governor’s meeting with State officials. “Dual leadership will lead to confusion in government administration. It is shocking to know that the CM remains a mute spectator to this development,” they said.

Dhinakran said “The late CM Jayalalithaa would not have allowed such interference by Governor. Perhaps this is BJP’s style of intruding into State administration.”

In a statement, MDMK general secretary Vaiko said “The act of the Governor is against the basic rights of the States. It is a bad precedent.” VCK president Thol Thirumavalvan said “It is shocking to know that the CM is yet to express his displeasure over the incident.”
