CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has issued notice to the inspector of police of the Utthanapalli station in Krishnagiri district on a petition over the trial in the murder of Palani of Periyar Dravida Kazhagam, allegedly by a group, including CPI MLA Ramachandran, in 2012.  Justice MS Ramesh, before whom the petition from Vanjinathan, son of Palani, seeking to transfer the trial from the Additional Sessions Court
in Hosur to the Principal District Session Court, Salem, came up on Wednesday, ordered the notice returnable by December 4.

Petitioner alleged that his father was killed by MLA Ramachandran of the Thali constituency in Dharmapuri district with the help of 24 others, all armed with deadly weapons and country-made bombs, when he and his father went to the agricultural field on July 5, 2012. There is every possibility of witnesses not telling the truth fearlessly during the trial before the court in Hosur, where the MLA and other accused, all related to him, are living, petitioner contended.
