CHENNAI: As concerns spiked following the death of a student in Madurai that was allegedly due to Blue Whale Challenge, the Directorate of School Education issued a circular to schools urging them to spread awareness of playing unwanted games which might prove fatal.
The directorate urged headmasters and headmistresses to speak about the matter during daily morning assemblies to advise the students not to play such games. The schools should put up visible signages warning about the dangers of this game, including the physical and mental effects it could entail.
Students should be encouraged to indulge more in reading books, exercises, yoga and playground activities. Parents should spend more time with the students and make sure that they don’t feel lonely.
