Government will be ousted if it is adamant: CPM

If the CM has any doubt over the support of the people for the project, he can conduct a referendum.

CHENNAI: The state government will be thrown out like the CPM government in West Bengal if it is adamant in establishing the Chennai-Salem eight-lane greenfield corridor, warned PMK leader Dr S Ramadoss. In his press release on Sunday, he said, “Edappadi K Palaniswamy has said the green corridor is a Union government’s project.

The state government’s duty is only land acquisition for the project. But, 20 days ago, the CM said that the state government had got the project after a struggle with the Union government. If the CM has any doubt over the support of the people for the project, he can conduct a referendum. In Kerala, no project is taken up, if it affects environment.”There is no need for new highways and it will be a waste of money, Ramadoss said.
