CHENNAI: DMK working president MK Stalin on Tuesday questioned why Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami was remaining quiet on the Income Tax raids conducted on the premises of SPK and Company Private Limited, which he alleged was having proximity to the Chief Minister’s close relative.

In a statement, he said that the CM had brought shame to the State by keeping silent on the raids or not coming forward to resign his position. Stalin reiterated his demand for the CM’s resignation.

‘Punish child rapists soon’

Expressing shock over the repeated rape of a differently-abled school girl in the city here, Stalin urged the authorities concerned to complete the judicial process and ensure the culprits are punished at the earliest. He said the insecurity to children and women in the capital city was not only raising concern but also anxiety. The government should provide medical assistance to the victim and help for her future, he said.
