Rs 3.97 Lakh unaccounted cash seized from the office of Agriculture deputy director

DVAC conducts surprise check following graft allegations against certain officers.

CHENNAI: Unaccounted money to the tune of `3.97 lakh was seized at the office of the Deputy Director (DD) of Agriculture (Fertilizer), A Sankar, by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption during a surprise check on Monday night, according to an official release. The money was seized from the DD (Fertilizer), Assistant Director (Quality Control) and two other fertilizer dealers who were present at the office in Chepauk to get their supply plan, the release said.The surprise check was conducted, based on allegations of collection of bribes by certain officials.
