CHENNAI: A 23-year-old hotel staff was allegedly murdered by hotel owner’s brother after a fight broke out between the duo in Perambur on Sunday night. Police said Rajesh, 23, brother of Durai, who owns a fast food shop at Perambur, was in charge of the shop as his elder brother was away from the city for a couple of days.

“On Sunday, the owner returned and had a fight with Rajesh over the shrinking income from the hotel business. Later at night, Rajesh went to his room in which Jayaprakash and a few other employees of the hotel also stayed. Both Rajesh and Jayaprakash were drunk and got into a fight. Already vexed by his brother’s scolding,  Rajesh strangulated Jayaprakash to death,” said a police source.
Later, Rajesh, surrendered in the police station on Monday.
