CHENNAI: PMK founder, S Ramadoss, has demanded that work on the ‘green corridor’ between Chennai and Salem be stopped as the project would create adverse impact on people of five districts.

He warned that PMK will stage protests if the government goes ahead with the project. In a press release, he said State and Centre were working for implementing the eight-lane corridor despite continuous protests. He said there was no need for a green corridor when there were already three roads to Salem.

He made it clear that the PMK was not against development. Schemes should be for the people and not for the welfare of corporates.
