Tamil Nadu: Two died, one injured in Vellore road accident

Among three persons, who were travelling in a two-wheeler, two were killed and one sustained injuries in a road accident that took place opposite to Kakankarai bus stop at Tirupattur.

VELLORE: Among three persons, who were travelling in a two-wheeler, two were killed and one sustained injuries in a road accident that took place opposite to Kakankarai bus stop at Tirupattur on Monday.

When the trio was nearing the bus stop, a tipper lorry reportedly travelling in the opposite direction, tried to take a U-turn. While doing so, the lorry hit the two-wheeler.

Mani (35), Kuzhanthaipaiyan (45) died on the spot and Poovarasan sustained injuries. Police officials from Kandhili station came arrived at the spot and admitted Poovarasan to Tirupattur Government Hospital and sent the two dead bodies to the hospital for postmortem examination.

A police source said that the lorry driver absconded. The victims' families were informed and after providing first aid to Poovarasan, he was referred to Dharmapuri Government Hospital for further treatment.

The deceased, Mani and Kuzhanthaipaiyan, were from Sellappankaraipatti village in Krishnagiri district and Poovarasan from Lakkinayapatti in Kulichi.
