Notice issued on Hindu outfit office construction

The Madras High Court has ordered maintenance of status quo in the matter of construction of an office building for Hindu Makkal Katchi in Coimbatore.

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has ordered maintenance of status quo in the matter of construction of an office building for Hindu Makkal Katchi in Coimbatore.Justice P N Prakash granted the injunction on Tuesday while admitting a petition from Manjula Theivanayagam of Saidapet, who claimed that the land on which HMK was planning to construct its office on Subramaniam Street in R S Puram, belonged to her and others. The judge issued notice to authorities concerned, returnable in two weeks. 

Previously, Arjun Sampath, a local HMK leader had moved the High Court with a petition to restrain petitioners and others from interfering with the construction activities on the disputed land and the judge on April 25 last disposed of it with a direction to the police to summon both parties and take action as per law. Hence, the present petition from the petitioner.
