Cylinder explosion kills family of three in Tamil Nadu's Madurai

In a horrible incident, a family of three including a six-year-old girl from Tiruparankundram died after an LPG cylinder blasted around 3 am on Wednesday.

MADURAI: In a horrible incident, a family of three including a six-year-old girl from Tiruparankundram died after an LPG cylinder blasted around 3 am on Wednesday.

Ramamoorthy, a resident of Tiruparankundram's Balaji Nagar was living along with his wife Kanchana and six-year-old daughter Akshaya. 

The cylinder exploded in the kitchen and a blaze erupted in the ground floor elevation.

Following the huge sound of explosion, the neighbours alerted the fire and rescue services and the local police. 

Rushing to the spot, the fire brigade doused the flames and rescued Ramamoorthy with severe injuries
and rushed him to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. 

Meanwhile, the bodies of Kanchana and her daughter Akshaya was charred in the fire. 

Tiruparankundram police registered a case and an investigation is on to ascertain the reason for the explosion.
